About Me
Ryan Baker is a wild card filmmaker with a fierce love of life, originally from Sacramento with roots in San Francisco, currently based in Los Angeles.
To put it simply, he wants to be one of those filmmakers who expand the canvas of cinema. The trans gaze is largely underexplored in cinema- he believes he's going to radically change how our stories our told and it involves sincerity, restorative justice, and a dash of clownery. His unique background of being a gay, biracial trans man aid in coloring his lens.
He has worked on films that have been featured in Sundance Film Festival, San Francisco's Transgender Film Festival, Seattle's TRANSlations Film Festival, Outfest LA, Artist Television Access SF, Canada's Salmon Arm Art Gallery, and The National Queer Arts Festival.
Ryan graduated from St. Mary's College of California in 2017 with a degree in Communication and a minor in Women and Gender Studies.
He is currently looking for opportunities to act, write, direct, gaff or key grip. But most importantly, he wants to have fun!
